I'm wowed, amazed, grateful, happy, anxious, curious, tired, calm, proud, and so much more. It’s hard to pin down all the feelings I’m feeling as I re-acclimate to my life in Switzerland. But reflecting on all that I was able to experience leaves me extremely grateful and happy.
My sabbatical started with my last day of work at MyBluePlanet back in June 2024, followed by a few summer months filled with time with friends, lake swims, a jam-packed journey through Europe with my cousins, a gorgeous 3-day bike tour with Mom, and a few special birthday celebrations before heading out on my LATAM adventure. All those things seem like forever ago. Because once I started my journey in August 2024, my pace of life changed. It became slower, guided by intuition and a softer, calmer way of making decisions. Instead of planning things around a schedule or work, I had the space to listen to myself. Where did I want to go? What did I want to see? What did I want to experience? I allowed myself to meander through the days, discovering what felt right at each moment. And it felt so good.
So, what now? I’m not quite sure where the path leads after my grand adventure, or how I can incorporate that sense of meandering into my day-to-day life. I’m curious to see how I shape my life. I’m anxious to see how my life back in Switzerland unfolds. I’m excited to catch up with friends and family. And I'm looking forward to sprinkling all the learnings, impressions, and colorful vibes into my next chapter.
To round off this post, here's a question I'd like to encourage you to ask yourself: What's that one big thing that you dream of? What have you wanted to do but have put off because it's too big or crazy or scary?
In my case it was an adventure to lands unknown, immersing myself in a language I love, and soaking up the vibrancy and palette of fascinating cultures. And it's the best gift I've ever given myself.
Make your dreams happen. You're worth it.
